Under the sea

New Technology is surfacing all the time but most of the time it is just an improved version of current technology rather than something unseen before.

New Technology is surfacing all the time but most of the time it is just an improved version of current technology rather than something unseen before. Migaloo Submarines are a combination of both. Submarines have been around for many years; the first successful submarine was built as far back as 1620. Luxury Submarines however are an entirely new concept and quite frankly a welcome one.
A hybrid of a luxury superyacht and a Submarine does not in theory sound like an idea that would really work bearing in mind 90% of the appeal of a superyacht is above the surface. Migaloo have solved this issue by combing the facilities offered by both vessels. It has all a superyacht has to offers when it surfaces and is a capable submersible beneath the waves. The Company has designs for a range of submersibles from the M2 which houses between 24 and 36 guests and is designed with business in mind, with conference and business layout through to the M7 which is the world’s largest submersible superyacht design.

No expense is spare with rooms situated on the top deck open to the ocean, there is also a swimming pool, cinema, elevators, libraries and private terraces. Everything you could want from a hotel is now available as a submersible to rival something out of an action movie.

Potential owners can choose everything from the interior to the layout development.

Just how popular these submersible yachts will prove to be remains to be see but if you have ever wanted to be a bond villain this would be a good start. Should you wish to go one step further Migaloo also offer a floating private island.

Last year Migalii released images of a private floating island concept that could be moved anywhere in the world. The island has an 80 metre high penthouse suit, waterfalls and a helipad. The design treats owners to 360-degree views within the penthouse, which is accessed by an 80-meter elevator.

Based on proven technology that Migaloo have available, the firm says the moveable paradise – known as Kokomo Ailand – would also be perfect for a high-class hotel, company headquarters or casino.
